Internet Marketing Tips - 3 Tips For a Killer Ezine

An effective ezine is one of the best ways to build a list and turn prospects into customers. The problem that many marketers have is that they don't know how to properly manage their ezine. This article is going to give you three solid tips to make your ezine as effective as possible so that you retain subscribers longer and turn more of them into paying customers. That is, after all, the bottom line...right? So let's get started.

The first tip is probably the most important. When you target people to subscribe to your ezine, you have to make sure that you give them plenty of incentive to want to subscribe in the first place. With so many marketers moving the free line, this gets harder and harder to do. Just offering them a free report or a follow up newsletter is not enough. You need to do both. You have to give the subscriber as much value for free as you can. You are competing with a lot of people. The more you give, the more you will get.

The second tip is to make sure that when you get a subscriber, you deliver on your promise and DON'T pitch them too often. People do NOT like to be sold to. If your ezine is nothing but one sales pitch after another, trust me, these people are going to tune you out. If you promised them a free report and a 52 week newsletter, give it to them. Don't bombard them with sales pitches. Yes, you can occasionally mention one of your products as long as it relates to the ezine issue. But keep it low key.

Finally, you want to ask for feedback. So few ezine owners do this. If you don't know what your subscribers are thinking, you have no way of knowing if your ezine is effective. I usually will include an issue in my ezine where I do ask for feedback. And always encourage your subscribers to contact you for help. It shows that you care and that you're just not after their money.

Running an effective ezine is not rocket science. Make sure you're targeting people who REALLY want what you have to offer, give them what you promised them, not pitching them to death, and ask for feedback so you can modify things that aren't working. If you do these three simple things, you'll have an ezine that people will enjoy being a subscriber to.

Internet Marketing Tips - The Herd Mentality

Lambs being led to the slaughter. That's what it's like for most Internet marketers. And you can't really blame them. Most people, especially when they first start out, are looking for some direction. They don't know what they're doing and don't know where to go for help. So any assistance is welcomed. The problem is, most of the leading ends up leading them to no profits or worse, incredible losses of time and money. I was never one to follow the herd. I marched to my own beat and in this article, I'm going to show you how to do the same. You don't have to be a lamb led to the slaughter.

The first thing you need to do, especially if you are new to Internet marketing, is refrain from promoting the flavor of the day. Sure, it's tempting to want to promote the top selling item in the Clickbank marketplace and do what everybody else is doing, but the truth is, with all the people promoting it, the competition will literally eat you alive and you'll never get anywhere. It's much better to look for a solid product that isn't so flooded and promote that. You'll have a much easier time of it.

The next thing you need to do is stop using canned ads. Yes, I know that merchants feel that they need to create these ads for their affiliates in order to sell their product, but the truth is, if everybody uses the same ad and simply sticks in their affiliate link in place of the one that comes in the ad, all the ads read by the end user turn out to have no effect. Why? Because they're all the same ad. Once you've read it, you've read it. It's much better to use a little creativity and make up your own ads. It will help improve your talents as a writer and you'll end up getting a lot more people to read your ad simply because it's new.

The next thing you need to do, and this is critical, is to stop believing and acting as others do when the summer hits. Contrary to popular belief, the summer is not a lost cause when it comes to making a living on the Internet. Not everybody goes away for the summer. As a matter of fact, I've had some of my best months in total sales when summer hits. The reason is because the herd all takes off and I'm left, practically alone, to market to the folks out there.
